I’m currently running 1×10 with a M665 SLX crank (double version) and a Straitline Silentguide/bash but the cranks are up for replacement so…

Any issues with buying the latest 10spd chainsets? For example:

    – are you better off with a double or a triple, when running a single ring? I’m thinking a double probably won’t work, as the bashring won’t fit?

    – do Renthal/Hope single rings (and Straitline bashrings for that matter) fit all the latest curvy spiders?

    – Is there any reason not to go with another M665, which I know works fine?

I reckon triples are better if you set the ring on the middle position, it’ll be slap in the middle of the chainline. Then if you want you can also fit a bash outside it too. On the other hand a double will be lined up 2.5mm outside the midline, which isn’t that much – and without a bash will look neater. IMHO.
