    Probably the freewheel, possibly chainrings.

Checked chain rings? Are the cables in good nick?

Is it slipping at the front? New chainring needed if so.

BTW my name is the 1st 6 letters of your login. Weird huh?

    That’ll be worn chainrings then.

It’s not a hugely expensive fix, you can track down a Deore chainring which will last ages and should leave you change of a tenner.

Can’t hurt to change the jockey wheels too, if the old ones resemble shurikens.

if its any help, it feels like it slips at the back not the front, could it still be the chainrings?

    Yes, absolutely.

Could be the free hub too

Most likely the chainring… does it slip in the granny & big ring too? is it common across ALL gear ratios – if so freehub

    Also check the indexing

Just because it ‘feels’ like its slipping at the back doesn’t mean anything.

Worn and new parts in the drivetrain can be the devils work 😈

Wonder if there are any other STWers who have the same name?
