Due to the 10% CRC discount…..I have a carbon post on it’s way…

    Now…

    1. Any suggestions on cleaning out the inside of the seat tube? It’s got years of copperslip, grease and rust residue. I can only get to the top few inches….

    2. Should I also get myself some carbon paste stuff or is seizing only really an issue with alloy/carbon?

Good LBS might have a seat tube reamer to ensure its clean and perfectly round before you fit the post.

Rag down the inside with a rod/bar.

No need to ream if post goes in OK.

Get a 500mm or so length of m6 threaded rod or similar, couple on nuts and washers from b&q or your local fastener place. Then sandwich a square of scotchbrite between the nuts and washers, put the other end In a drill chuck and clean away…..

Prob a good idea to use the scotchbrite thing and add in some degreaser to help break down any remaining.
Prob worthwhile taking out your BB first and then give it a good rinsing with it.
