Built with a fairly tight budget using used bits and bargain bits. Some quality some cheap and a few bits i had. but it seems to ride nice on quick shakedown (school run hence the pedal attachments) 🙂 wanted a cx bike but funds wise was looking at a caadx tiagra got this built for 635 think mines better tbh

Nothing wrong with that for the price, very nice indeed.

Excellent bottle cage to frame colour matching as well.

What are the rapid robs like? are they a good size? fast, grippy, tough or just meh and wish you went for racing ralph?

They, admittedly after 2 short rides, seems sound. Decent size on the rim. Certainly seem to roll plenty fast enough. Grip wise felt fine lost rear a couple of times out of the saddle but thats prob more me and wet leaves/mud than the tyres. I got them as they were cheap as chips from Germany (less than 10 euro a tyre) and i already had some other stuff to order from there

Rapid Robs are ok but very heavy, approx 540g, you could save 1lb easily by replacing them.

I weighed them out of curiosity when they arrived they were both bang on 480g

After much mulling I decided to go old skool for my new cross bike. A search came up with this new old stock Ridley frame. Built with my old parts with the exception of the TRP brakes, these are staggering.

Built this at the beginning of the summer, with a NOS bargain frame…

Tubeless ready for when I put cross tyres or the range of tubeless road tyres increases:
