looks like a pimped out apollo!

I picked it up on Wednesday, but have only been able to get out for a quick blast around Rivington yesterday afternoon. It just seems to suit my style of riding perfectly.

Rivi is a good test bench for most bikes, we ride there quite a bit.

ooo lovely, the bf is giving this bike serious thought to being his next steed ill have to show him your lovely coloured example. Sway him more to spend money so i dont feel as bad for just buying a new bike for myself lol

You shouldn’t feel bad or guilty for buying yourself a new bike…..

New bikes in the bike shop are like a dog in a rescue centre, just waiting for somebody to take it home and give it a good home!! You are doing them a favour…

Nice bike! Thinking of getting rid of my 5 and getting a Alpine. What size are the chainrings on the Alpine 160s? The pivot looks a little bit higher than the 5 so it should be able to take a bigger front set-up. According to Orange the 5 is limited to 32T middle.

aesthetically. They’re all pretty much the same really. I’m sure it’s a great bike to ride, an’ all, just don’t find it massively inspiring

That colour looks really good on the Alpine…nice and understated, like it.

Best colour they do is the metallic green imo. Nice bike the Alpine one of our instructors has one, rides really nicely and is fairly light too.

And yes that rotor is the wrong way round, thought they had direction arrows machined into them?

thank him for my girlfriends training day please.

Thanks for the comments guys, yes the rotor is the wrong way round, I didnt notice, neither did Northwest MTB, or Orange evidently! I’ll swap it round before I tackle the megavalanche next week 😆

It doesnt climb as well as my Marin did, but I did forget to wind the forks down (I never used to with my old revs, and probably never will on this), and you can feel the exta couple of pounds in bike weight (maybe it was just the crazy humidity on Saturday?), so may swap over some of the Truvative kit for something a bit blingier and lighter when finances recover….

Clareymorris – thanks for the name suggestion. Close but no cigar, I’ll keep thinking of something!

Nice Bike JC, I believe the builders merchants are still open if you need the rightsized brick for rotor removal ;0)

I am working on a new name for you.
