  • New bike front brake routing behind head tube?

Just unpacked my newly delivered bike from CRC, put the bars on, and realised the front brake hose is routed under the down tube/behind the head tube, then over the top of the fork crown.

It doesn’t cause any snags or stop me turning the bars +/-90 degrees so I don’t think it should cause any problems, plus it looks quite neat but I’ve never seen it done like this before.

Any good reason why I should put it back round the front?

Is there any chance your forks may have spun 360 degrees before you fited the bars?

Yep, that would make sense. I sat looking at it for ages and thought that wasn’t the case, but just looked at it again and pretty sure that is what has happened.

Must have been daydreaming about how long it is going to take me to get over excited on the shiny new bike and crash on the first ride out!
