Some bikes you just love from the moment your bum hits the saddle. I took my new Spesh Tricross out yesterday and today and had a ball. Not the quickest ride in the world with the 32 mm tyres, and the gear change isn’t the slickest, but definitely the ideal “do it all” bike.

Comfy to ride on road and coped perfectly with some tracks in the Pentlands. Now I just need to get fit enough to try some cyclo-cross.

Only problem is that when I was raving to Mrs Kenny about what a great “do it all” bike it was I got the (and I should have seen this coming) “Well I guess that means you can get rid of the other five bikes in the garage then” response.
