My uncle has asked me to help get his ancient rim brake Scott MTB working. Doesn’t ride a lot, just local canal pootles, and does not want to buy a new bike. The front wheel appears to be shot – not had a look at it yet but from what he says i suspect not salvageable.

So where best to source a very cheap but still functional, rim brake 26″ wheel?

    Ebay?

The Raleigh/RSP ones in our lbs look pretty good value.

    This for £17?

Or there is one in the warehouse deals (prob just an opened box, new wheel) for £8

    Don’t think they’re QR though..

edit: or this for 20 euros – no idea on shipping though?
