  • Need to replace Dell laptop screen – any tips?

My daughter has contrived to kneel on her laptop screen and although it still works it has a star shaped set of cracks and will need to be replaced.

I can see replacements at around £50. Are there any better than others and any major challenges fitting it? The Dell Inspiron 15r that she has doesn’t seem to have any screws around the screen so I guess it’s a matter of just prizing the bezel off gently.

Should be some screws under the rubber bungs on it. Also it will probably be taped on along the bottom being a dell, you might need tape to get it back on. Should be about 6 screws on the hinges which will get the actual screen off. And of course a cable on the back at the top of the screen
