One lesser reported victim of the floods was my trusty Garmin Edge 305. I am pretty sure it fell off when I was turning the bike around after finding the towpath blocked again but didnt notice till later.
I could buy a second hand 305 but they are getting pretty old now.
I dont think a Garmin 200 will work as I think that will not connect to speed cadence accesories.
I could buy a Garmin 500 for £139 from Amazon
I could buy a Garmin 510 for £195 from Amazon
I am not really tempted with the Bryton type brands unless they are much cheaper and still connect with accessories.

has anyone used the 500 and 510 do they both work the same, same features etc. does the screen work with gloved hands etc.

    Thanks

I have no first hand experience with either but this is a good read.

    Hello

First of all you could buy them from here: http://www.handtec.co.uk/satnav-gps.html?cat=8&manufacturer=67 as they’re a bit (not much) cheaper.

I have the 500 and my old man has the 510. If you’re into all that social networking stuff and have an iphone then the 510 integrates pretty well. If you don’t have a laptop or can’t be bothered with USB cables then again the 510 is the one to go for. Other than that the 500 is identical.

    Cheers
    Chris
