  • need new forks so pikes or lyriks ?

    my old pikes have died after this weekends ardrock . so need to replace but not sure what to get next pikes or lyriks or neither

    -Lyrik has a bigger negative air volume, so plusher at the begginning of the stroke, it is noticeable.
    -Lyrik is a bit stiffer (have run Pikes at 160mm), down the the lowers and torque caps.

    On a long travel bike (Reign, Capra, Enduro, etc), the Lyrik would be my choice due to the above. On a shorter travel bike, I would go for the Pike to save a bit of weight. I have a 170mm Lyrik on my Reign and a Pike on the Trance (now set at 140mm to make it more XC biased)

    In my experience (owned 160mm pike rct3 for a year then swapped to 170mm lyrik rct3) Lyriks are noticeably better than pike, with minimal weight penalty.

    Get the lyrik would be my advice.

    Ps, alltricks have 2016 170mmfox 36 rc2 for £655, if you fancied that.

    Slight sidebar, are you talking the old U-turn type pikes?
