Probably will look a bit daft here but I can’t find the answer on YouTube or Google or from Mavic.

My new bike has the new crossmax wheelset with a boost 148 thru axle, with no qr lever. It looks like I need an allen key to remove the axle, I presume on the non drive side.

Anyone have a similar set up or know how to help?

Not sure whether it just needs loosening off or undoing completely and whether it’s just the non drive side or both that need to be touched?!

    Thanks

It’ll just unscrew fully from the nds using an Allen key. The axle will be whatever the frame manufacturer specced, nothing to do with the wheels.

Yep – you’ll have to fully remove it using the correct sized allen key.

You may be able to source a replacement axle with a lever as a number of manufacturers are now offering them (including Shimano).

    Yes.

Yep, the drive side end of the axle will have a thread on it. Once that disengages from the drive side drop out it’ll just pull right through the non-drive side dropout.
