I have been looking at these

    http://www.decathlon.co.uk/free-ride-bmx-pedals-id_6032812.html

I really need some pedals with decent grip, the type of riding i do is XC/Freeride/downhill so a little bit of everything,, i am currently riding a Kona Five 0 with some Kona pedals but my feet keep slipping all over the place.

I really dont want to spend much more than £30 (on a budget)

Hmmm, rockrider, don’t fancy those much tbh….

You can get DMR V12s from Chain reaction for £30.99 if you don’t mind irish green or RC Red (whatever that is..)

I thought SSC’s pedal (a generic pedal) was well thought of? (& is lighter than both of those)

Nanos are on sale?! Your quest has concluded OP.

I ride with WahWahs (same thing as a normal Nano, but thru-pin), I thoroughly recommend them. Go with the thru-pin Nano, sharper and better in the long run.

I wouldn’t go near the Rockriders.

If not Nanos, then one of their other incarnations: Nukeproof (not plastic), Kona or that other make that escapes me.

The Rockriders might very well be good, but they’re heavy and not that cheap. Nanos are lighter and thinner and very good all round.

Another very good option is the Wellgo MG1, lighter but thicker than the Nanos. Not as tough, though, due to the magnesium body but still tough enough for most use IME.

I just bought some nano tech pedals from SS in the sale and they are mint….£34 bargain!
