From previous threads on this topic the Synology NAS drives seem to come out as the top pick. So what is the difference between the DS214se and the DS213J apart from the £35 or so price difference? Both get largely great reviews with the only downside against both are people complaining the they can be a bit slow ( maybe the more expensive one being less slow). Speed is not necessarily an issue as I’ll be using it for auto backups (so can chug along to its hearts content in the background for as long as it likes) and streaming.

The major difference is that one has the processor running at 800 and the other at 1200 and the faster one also has twice the memory.
