don’t be so sure, i’ve bounced off some huge chunks of granite (not to mention the limestone drainage ditches on the whernside descent) and only pinch flatted once – and i am no lightweight!
i can’t reach the brakes properly
me neither, i always did wonder why roadie sti units were so user un-friendly?
i run bar top levers on my bikes set as wide as i can apart, although in fairness i did take some advice and have taught/forced myself to use the brakes from the hoods. the bike is more unstable on the bar top levers.
I have never pinched flat, even though some of the stuff i rode over i should have!
Although think you’ll find 38T and 18T a little too easy, i’m on 42T 18T and for rides around peaks/sherwood pines it is ideal, only a couple of really technical things you have to carry up.
That’s one very pretty bike – i love the green and the retro decals. Looks great with the carbon fork and the chainring looks cool too. Nicely specced and built bike.
