Right i have four hours to ride (give or take an hour)

Option A is hope/ladybower/whinston lee tor etc

Option B is home to ashbourne and back on the road (50 miles on the nose)

Both rides will be solo 🙁

Which should i do – and why?

option A : no particular reason except it sounds more interesting.. 😉

+1 for A. Solo mtb is more fun than solo road surely…

A, it’s safer than road riding and more fun to boot

roads are merely a way of getting to the trails

Option A will give you a whole load more fun,bit of adrenaline and the added benefit of a good workout whereas Option B will give you a good workout and may be slightly stimulating if getting skimmed by wing mirrors is your thing.
Mtb every time for me. Fwiw i do both disciplines, currently training for a JOGLE ride for charity next month and really resenting my road miles at the minute! Road ride in a morning and mtb after work in the week, if i only have the choice of one the mtb wins every time.

Or, to be controversial, band on the ipod and go hurt your self on the tarmac for 50m. See which bike winks at you in the morning.

Yep 50 metres should be enough of a road ride, then return to shed and get your mountain bike out!

road but only if you have a yellow jersey and a camelbak
    Otherwise off road in lycra

why not pick a more interesting road route, and use the fact the bike won’t need cleaning as a reason to go further?

Not old enough to grow a beard? That explains a lot 🙂

How far does this choice thing go?Will you be posting from your ride asking directions? I’d hate for you to have to make up your own mind whether to turn left or right at every junction 🙄

rd – why do you feel the need to appear on any of my threads, i have made it quite clear i don’t like you or give **** about you?

Because you do same to mine with your snide comments , it works both ways, if you can’t handle it don’t start it
