Just finished building up my new Prince Albert.

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

This is the first time that I have built a bike from a bare frame and I have really enjoyed the experience. The only dodgy bit was doing a big oil change service on my Floats. (the conservatory floor will nevcer be the same again!) I now feel that I know my bike inside and out.

The picture was taken just prior to last night when I raised the forks back up to 140mm fron 120mm. A little ride around the village immediately felt right for me. Much more relaxed and easier on the wrists.

The main thing that struck me on the first proper ride was how comfy it felt. This was my first time on a steel frame and I was amazed. Over fast small bumps it feels like it's got rear suspension (in a good way). Climbs like a mountain goat and accelerates well.

Thanks to Mike at Dialled bikes for a gem of a frame.

It's a classic alright, nearly as good as the MKI frame as well 😉

I should really get round to selling my Alpine frame and get a nice orangey PA….

Definitely a classic – almost as nice as the 831 version….

Jamie, how much might you be wanting for your alpine?

    I imagine £190 inc FSA Pig Pro Headset. It's a 15.5" x 22".

First bike on Dialled's website 'Alpine Builds' bit, the one with the black and white wheels, if you want a quick pic.

    Lovely build.

I've had mine for a year now and still loving it. I'd like some new forks for it now though. It's had some XT cranks fitted since this pic.
