    Hi,

This may be cheeky. But a good friend of mine is creating some wonderful bronze sculptures. Like the one below.

Have a look at http://www.alex-kirkpatrick.com/ for more 🙂

I’m not sure about what his plans are for them. All I know is they’re stunning!

Nautilus shells are wonderful things sliced in two, a perfect mathematical equation made solid, but in bronze they’re stunningly beautiful!
Just had a look at his site, and those shells are breathtaking! Superb castings, too. Now all I need is the lottery win!

    Very nice!

    What’s it for?

Why does it have to be for something?

As lovely as it is it’s the wrong orientation.

But it’s not a Nautilus shell.
It’s a supercharger for an octopus.
    Or possibly a turbotcharger.

    Sorry.

I don’t know but very nice I must say.

If I have one it might gather dust if it is not meant for something.

Very nice, pretty and i’m guessing… expensive. Is that a disc brake rotor on the centre on the shiny side?

    No disc rotors there 🙂

    How much are they?

Looks like he’s sold them on Esty before but can’t see a price.

    Is he in Sheffield?

It’s a Fibonacci sequence made solid, so a visual mathematical function to delight the eye.
    Art, innit. 😉

It’s a Fibonacci sequence made solid, so a visual mathematical function to delight the eye.

    Frayed knot.

Its a logarithmic sequence – “each successive turns bears a fixed ratio to the previous one”. And it’s not the golden ratio either.

he sort of hovers in and around Sheffield. His forge isn’t there, though.
