I really like the idea of a Compass.
Never in a million years would I have come up with that one, but it sort of says " ... when I am gone Son you can look at this and always know in which direction to take your life next ..."

However, at the end of the day, something which belonged to him would mean a whole lot more than anything he could buy you. I have a pair of My Grandfather's gloves, which i remember him and my dad wearing (at different times). They would be worth more to me than any new Rolex or Compass.
