I just serviced my TRP spyres and one of the 6 ball bearings dropped on the floor. I can’t find it so will need to get another.

Any idea what size they are? I don’t have my callipers to measure them.
If anyone has one available it would be a life saver ( for my wife as they are on her bike 🙂 )

have you got a decent magnet – if so run it around the floor under stuff etc

Must be very powerful to get under the fridge from two floors away.

Done the magnet trick but still can find it on a white tiled floor in the workshop.

A ball bearing dropped onto a tile floor will bounce quite high. Have you got shelves/racks it could have bounce onto?

drop another one and see where it ends up!

My* balls measure 0.116″ / 2.95mm.

Explains my sedate progress down hills and a reluctance to tackle jumps.

(* Coincidentally, the balls in my TRP Spyres are exactly the same size when measured with a digital caliper. I’m guessing they will be 3mm. I would suggest replacing the set of 3, rather than just one, but you were probably going to do that anyway.)

P.S. I have loads of 1/8″ ones which would possibly work if you’re stuck.

Check it isn’t wedged in the tread of your shoe

drop another one and see where it ends up!

Better still, chuck the remaining bearings out in random directions to give you an idea of likely hiding places.

I found a ball bearing – but I was from something else. ( and too bloody big for the spyres.
