Amazing video, not sure how they didn’t have time to get the power off or bear away.

For a multihull coup, that is sedate!! Until the mast breaks!! 😀

I think the main is backwinded for a few moments, holding it up at pretty much 90*…

Wow, amazing capsize. Good thing she didn’t pitch-pole. Hope the crewman’s back mends ok.
I guess that’s the trouble with any piece of bleeding-edge performance technology, keep pushing it and pushing it, until it reaches it’s limit, but at that point it all goes horribly wrong and bites you in the ass.

It wouldn’t be anything to do with chopper downdraft, would it?

Nah, apparent wind direction is almost ahead of that thing, just a huuuuuge gust.

Not exactly a great advert for the technology

    Hmm, I disagree.
Do F1 cars never crash? Or break down?
This was driver error, simples. They should have reacted sooner, and reading another article they speak of being overpowered anyway…

It’s only the mast that’s broken, the boat can still sail.
And it’s not your taxpayers money either, so why should you care?

Given that the boat is paid for by a company for advertising purposes. And it has got a bucket load of exposure,I’d say it was an excellent use of THEIR money. Now push bikes….there is a shameful waste of cash.

They did miss a trick not painting the sponsor name on the bottom of the hull 🙂

I’ve turned over plenty of little cats, even turning over something of the bigger end of a inshore cats, like a Tornado, is kinda exciting. Turning over something this big is something else.
