I have a pathway down the side of my house that I’d like to light up using PIR. I’ve fitted 2 bulkheads with integrated PIRs but due to the narrowness of the alleyway they don’t come on unless you wave your hand right in front of them. What I need to do is set up a separate PIR sensor to switch the lights.

However, the pathway / alley is ‘P’ shaped with a gate at the thin end, and the kitchen door around the corner from the fat end. Ideally I’d have one PIR sensor on the corner of the P that can do about 270 degree sensitivity, but also on the vertical plane as well. The alternative is to rig up 2 sensors (one facing either direction) that switch the bulkheads on an off – is this possible?

The bulkheads are currently at each end of the P, on a circuit linked by conduit. There is an inspection plate in the conduit at the corner where the PIRs would go.

I’d like something like this (but not sure it will solve my problem)

As opposed to 2 of these

What else is there on the market, or is the cost so high that I’m best off with the 2 sensors?
