The mrs is going to be riding the knockburn scx race later in the year

She has a stock genisis dayone alfine she uses for commuting – it has guards and a rack on . Do i need to remove them for the bike to meet any rules ?

If i remove them now she will have no way of ridin to work for the next 4 weeks.

I’ve seen people race with rack & guards. Not ideal though, especially if it’s a course with claggy mud – possibility of lots of clogging. Why do you have to take them off 4 weeks before the race? Surely you’d whip them off on the morning of the race and refit them after cleaning the bike later in the afternoon?

I work abroad an they would have to come off today and im
Not due back till my visa runs out in november

Dont suggest she takes em on and off .

That could be very painful an very detrimental to the contents of my garge

    Cheers sheldon.

For 1 cx race. If she enjoys it we might but no chance just now

I just bought a very expensive boiler andheating system for the house for winter that was more pressing than a race cx bike 🙂

If you have SKS mudguards or similar then adjust the gap between the tyre and mudguard to reduce the chance of clogging up on the race

    its a no

on the grounds of “to many pointy bits to hurt your self/other people”

although it was suggested that clip on guards may be ok.

i can see their point when it comes to that its just a pain in my ass hole ….

narrow tires on the mtb it is then.
