You may or may not have noticed, but it’s been wet. I’m finding my 26″ Rubber Queens aren’t quite cutting it in terms of providing traction in the thick gopping mud that covers everything at present.

What would people suggest other than 650b+??

Barons in black chili for hard riding. Mud-X for xc.
    Beaver 2.25 for in between.

Minion front, Ardent rear on my HT and HR2 rear on my full sus… all year round even in the thick sloppy gloop and not really a problem.

It’s not all about the tyres though. Technique plays a part. Big sloppy gloop ahead, steer a straight line and power through it, trying not to stop if something slips. Don’t freewheel through. I find I can power through most muddy crud. Don’t apply enough power and also weight on the rear and the rear starts slipping and then you’re stuck.

Magic Mary front and rear…if you want less drag put a Minion DHR2 on the back instead.
