    I’ve always thought off-road cycling is a much more appropriate description for what most do (including me), but I don’t think I would lose any sleep over it

    Gary Fischers shop was called: Mountain Bikes, no? And that moniker has stuck even though the bikes and riding styles have changed hugely, the aesthetic is more or less the same.

    Land over 2000ft in the uk is classed as mountainous

    Which is why everyone laughs at us.
    Personally, I don’t regard anything under 1000m as a mountain.

    We don’t have any mountains in this country. We have hills.

    Never been to Skye then? Don’t care how high they are, those are mountains. And yes I’ve been to the Alps plenty.
