nullEvening all,
as per the title i’m looking for suggestions for a 2 – 5 day mountain bike tour and was wondering if you have any recommendations?
Rather than leaving the post as generic as that i’ll share my thoughts or a master plan i’m thinking of….
My first thought was to ride the Pennine Bridleway from Kirkby Steven down it’s length before riding back into Nottingham (Taking 3 or 4 days & bivying en route each night).
Trains from Nottingham to Kirkby Steven requires a few changes & not the cheapest but do-able.
Secondary to this, another idea I though of (but would require lots of local knowledge etc) would be to get the train to Newcastle (more frequent & can book the bike on the train) and ride the Hadrian’s wall cycleway before heading south to join the bridleway – anyone know how do-able this would be minimal road / off road? ie, Newcatle to Haltwhistle before heading south (more than likely through Alston) and eventually picking up the trail. (Very quickly mapped a very basic idea of the route below but the bits I would need help / guidance with are getting it as off road as can be!)
These two appeal as the end destination is home meaning just one train to catch out (pending mechanicals en route!)

Alternatively, as per title – any suggestions? Wales always looks good but wouldn’t know where to begin!
