We’re off, it seems. I’ve been there twice before so have some experience but was wondering if you have any recommendations for a good chalet. Doesn’t have to be mega central. Enough space for a couple (bikes, people).

If you’ll consider Les Gets we stayed with Ski Blue Ridge last year for PPdS and would recommend them. You can roll down the road to Morzine.

We went last year and stayed in Chatel which as you know is on the same lift network. Was a great place and at the end of the day you could lift to the top and link up some trails back to the digs. The trails around chatel are in better conditon than morzine. Where ever You stey should be a great week 😉 http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/p489137

    self.

Last time we stayed up the valley – if you walk upstream about 5 minutes out of town. That was fine.

We thought of Chatel but I wasn’t quite sure how the town connects to the trails network. It looked like the first lift was quite a trek up from the town – is that not the case?

Or put it another way, we cycled down into Chatel for what seemed like a few miles.

We stayed in Chalet Sherpa in Morzine last summer. It had everything we needed:

There is a bike bus up if your head the direction to bike park or if your heading to swiss bits its via the lifts in chatel. I have stay at both places and would choose chatel again. Less people at the lifts, less braking bumps and better access to the swiss stuff.

Are you no XC bike or DH rig?

Also anyone who is going to the portes du soleil, make sure you get the lifts to morgins, most under rated place we went. Top trails all to ourselves.
