Before you ask I have got photos just nowhere to host them!

Any tips on socialising pups with cats – at the moment the cats are keeping clear of the dog – any time they do get close the pup thinks a game of chase is in order. Is it just a case of waiting for one of the cats to get cornered and throw some claws at the dog?

Food – pup seems to only like wet food, have tried various makes of kibble but not keen although folks seems to suggest dry food is better for them long-term?

Hell Yeah! A Puppy thread 😆

Just let the pup and cats get on with it! The cats will put the pup in its place. Pups will eat what they see others eat so I would feed it separately from the cats so that it gets to know what food it is meant to eat, ie dog food and not cat food!

Here is my dog when he was a puppy 14 years ago.

And here he is socialising with the cats eating prawns!

Let them get on with it. They’ll sort themselves out.

Feed him so much cat he becomes sick of it and looses all interest in them. I’m sure that will work.

Now you have whetted my apatite for puppy photos, more dorg!

Two house cats. Now living with two Labradors. Just leave them to it and give them some time. Don’t force the issue. Our dogs don’t go upstairs so the cats have that area knowing the dogs won’t be around them.
Our dogs did try to chase the cats at first but they got a telling off for it and it soon sank in that’s not a game. A few well timed cat paws in their direction helps keep them in their place.
Now we don’t have any issues .. They all just mingle around together in the house . Wouldn’t say they are best mates but they tolerate each other
