I have been looking around for something as an alternative for a salsa anything cage and came across the “Monkii Cage”.

I have also hacked a bottle cage to be something like a cheapo monkii. Since then, I have added a thin 10cm long piece of metal sheet to the bottom for additional support

That hack certainly looks the part.

I did a basic hack of my own from accidentally bending a cage… I think it only worked though because the sleeping mat I put in happened to be the right shape and is light weight. The majority of the work was being done by the Velcro strap holding it to the frame, the cage just kept it from slipping round into the cranks. Wouldn’t like to try it on the fork which would be my preferred position for a cage once I have a frame bag.

I can recommend them. I thought they were expensive at first, but they soon come into their own. Being able to clip them off easily is good too.

They fit on a suspension fork leg too with the clips (Fox 32, just!)
