What started out with me and Terrahawk messing about in Philips Park Woods then going for a sly pint has grown into something of an institution over the course of the year.
My lasting memories…
• The dust cloud that we generated heading towards the pub in Darwen.
• The lights of Manchester seen from the hill above Hollingworth Lake.
• The steep descents (and climbs) on the Tod ride.
• “Slapping the ass” before hurtling down the anti-clockwise run in Philips.
• The slog up Bull Hill and being gnawed to the bone by the Ramsbottom midges.
• Falling into a disused canal whilst going for a cheeky alfresco wee in Clifton.
• The camaraderie and talking cobblers in the pub with people that I didn’t know 12 months ago.
To me this is what riding push bikes in the dark on a school night is all about.
Merry Christmas. Bring on 2014!
