  • Modifying Air Volume (Cutting the Spring Rod) on Fox Float Forks – Where to Do?

    Right.

I am not sure I will definitely need it and sure will try the forks before doing anything.

But if I decide to do so – there are loads of threads on this, I mean, cutting the air spring shaft to increase air volume and make the forks use all travel – where can I have this done?

To make it clear: I know it’s rather a simple operation, cut off circa 1 inch +/- of the rod, drill a new hole and put it all back together. I can probably use pipe cutter to cut, but will likely have hard time drilling the rod with high precision.

The question is – who can do this for me? One of the suspension tuning companies? Or can I just go to some local workshop (South London) and have them perform the operation?

Or – are there really magic tricks to do it at home without a vice? 🙂

    Any advice is highly appreciated.
