My mobile (Sony Xperia T) has a screen lock on it. AFAIK all settings are pretty normal, although I have customised my ringtones and alarms. A few of my contacts have had personalised pictures applied to them.

If an uber-spy were to kill me for the secrets contained within the phone, what might she be able to discover?

    Just out of interest, OK?

When you say screen lock, is it locked with a pin? How clever is it? Will it wipe the phone if it’s been got wrong a few times?

Sod the personalised contact photos, what access does it have to your money and retail sites?

AFAIK I don’t have one of those unless someone else has been surfing on my phone. If that is the case, what can be seen?

Guess the screen lock code is easily the best game at work.

Phone is locked with a swipey pin thing. AFAIK it wont wipe the phone after a few times. I have installed ‘Where’s my droid’ though. Not that I really know how to use it.

So, if the aforementioned spy took my phone, could she get to see all my pics? Or my deleted pics? Or similarly, texts, emails etc.

Yep. If you don’t do the internet on it the spy’s influence is limited. In fact, no spy would even bother. No money in it, see.

@Ambrose the uber spy would capture you, connect electricity to your gonads at which point you’d tell her the unlock code in your now high pitched voice …

    Is the spy… your wife?

    Easier than that on Androids.

your wife will discover your affair by another means, probably by noticing an incriminating crypic question posted on an internet messageboard, that she also uses.

Ha ha. If only. I’m just wondering about how much ‘stuff’ is available on. y android if I were tolose it. I once had a loan phone whilst mine was being repaired, iI was able to read all the texts on it despite the store telling me that they had wiped it clean. Can uber clever people undelete stuff to read it. Or retrieve photos? I know that ‘location services’ are in there- so could the phones journeys be tracked even when eg. Orux maps is not in use?
The more I think about it the more concerned I’m getting. I need a tinfoil hat I think.

Nothing that Google already knows about you which they are selling off to the highest bidder. Or no more than what some people put up on Facebook or twitter. No such thing as privacy any more.
