    hi
    just bought standard golf mk 4
    the little red led next to the locking knob on drivers door
    shud it flash?

    doesn’t it only flash when the car is locked?

    Flashes when the doors are locked and alarmed, as said above, but if you mean the alarm is on and it isn’t flashing (or is very faint) check for an earthing problem

    Not all the time. If it’s the same as our current VW (which i think was the same as our Mk4 golf) it flashes quickly when you arm the alarm/lock the doors, then goes to a slow flash but after a time (possibly some days) I think it stops flashing (power saving?)
