  • Mis-firing SRAm rear mech – what's the trouble?

After a couple of recent bashes – one tumble into the mud that banged it a bit but no noticable bending and then a twig jammed in the wheel that caught behind it – my SRAM rear mech’s now skipping about and getting jammed on the larger rear cogs and not responding when I try to shift the chain back down, although it ‘recovers’ a few minutes later.

Rear mech set-up is not my chosen specialist subject – any ideas?

    Thanks

Most likely bent something or damaged a spring. Might need someone to take a good look at it and see how bad the damage is.

Thanks Luke – in London every day during the week mate, so seems unlikely, but appreciate the offer. Might be reduced to getting out the Zinn’s manual and think for myself. Probably won’t go well…

Now that the Downs don’t resemble a sodden pigpen, join us on the trail this weekend?
