After one of my daughters friends gave out my IP to a random stranger I’ve closed her server and port forwarding on my router.

I’ve been thinking of moving her world to a dedicated host and wondered if anyone could recommend a Minecraft server host.

And how can she keep her current world – do I just upload the save files? And can they create multiple world on the same hosting package?

    Ta!

You can change the default port on your forwarder to hide from undesireables. Don’t know about paid hosting.

My son has his own server, I’ll ask him when he’s home from work.

Cheap VPS with Digital Ocean handle that fine. Plenty of transfer with there boxes, and pretty cheap for the RAM/CPU you get.

You’ll need to use the command line for your linux distro of choice to get setup though.

I’ve used these ones in the past.

Also used multiplay for other game servers, there’s lots of options out there you need to price CPU and RAM for your £ as well an easy interface.

Can you not just fire up an amazon server for free?

Been a long time since I looked at it mind.
Yep, looks like it’s still available.
