Does anyone know how to suppress the annoying green grammar highlights (and spelling for that matter) so when the document is opened by someone else the highlights are not there?

    I’m using Word 2010.

I know it can be saved to a PDF but I specifically need to suppress them in Word for any reader.

It is a reader specific setting as far as I am aware.

You can switch it off for yourself but depends how others have set their options.

I might be wrong, and there might be a way 🙂

Word options (file menu I think but I have 2007 at work so I can’t check, in 2007 its the office button)

    Proofing

Hide Spelling Errors in this document only
Hide Grammar Errors in this document only

    Done

However PDF sounds like what you should be using to share completed documents.

    For Word2010:
    Go to “Review” pane.
    Select all text (Ctrl,A)
Click Language – Set Proofing Language.
Then check “Do not check spelling or grammar”.

    Should be document specific.
