    Anyone switched to microdrive on their BMX? Any good?

    Looks shit if you go too small. Wears drivetrain out quicker. I like 33-36t on the front, anything much smaller looks odd imo.

    That’s one of the things I’ve heard, drivetrain needs replacing soon, big stuff is cheaper so reckon I’ll stick with it

    isn’t it more likely to skip if the chain’s at all loose ?

    It just gives you a bit more clearance for dropping into ramps and grinding really. My mate runs microdrive and it always sounds really creaky and rough. I use/used 32/12 i think

    I wouldnt bother. I know 2 people who have had it, then got rid of it… One of them swears it f’ed up his profile hub. Personally I’m a big fan of 30 – 10 gearing, might go to 32- 10 next year. thats for mainly trails and bowls though.

    I know that it can be a right PITA if you need to get the back wheel out though if your dropouts are fairly short.
