I don't watch a lot of TV shows these days – most of the stuff out there is rubbish …

… but I can't get enough of Miami Ink! It's a bit formulaic – middle aged women getting tattoos of their dead offspring etc, but it's like TV crack.

Also making me want to go to Miami and get a Chris Garver tattoo.

Used to enjoy that but don't get it on digi. I'm surprised Chris Garver is still there as he was giving up last time I saw it due to back problems. Some of the work is fantastic (and I'm not really into tattoos)

You get what you pay for – I seem to remember someone saying they charge around $400 an hour?

sorry to hijack this, but who are rated for tatoo's here in the uk? who where are the top names?

The examples I've seen could not be described as merely above average.

I'd be interested to know who you think is better, with a link if possible. Cheers

    Sort of thing you're after?

miami ink is good, as is la ink, not so keen on london ink is good but i cant stand Louis Molloy, he is a very good artist, but i hate the way he talks to dan gold. they are all good artists, but there are pleanty of other artists in the uk who are just as good if not better and wont be charging as much as them. look around.

Interesting. I think Mr Stares could do with a pic of a more attractive Indian 😯

I'm not a fan either but the Chubby Brown is very good.

Did anyone see the episode of London Ink where the American guy come over who was a specialist at photo-realistic tattoos? He did a Huskie on a womans back and it was absolutely flawless. She said it looked better than the photograph and I just about agree with her.

hmmm.. I don't have an answer for that I'm afraid.. I've not really ever thought about it to that extent.. I'm just speaking as someone with an eye for that sort of thing who has spent hours and hours and hours waiting around in tattoo studios looking through magazines..

I was being a bit facetious.. the guy is good..

saleem – I've had a few trips to that site over the last couple of days.

We're considering a trip to Miami in October with a visit to lovehate tattoos on top.

Seeing as you get to keep it for life, I think it's OK to spend plenty of dosh on. I'd be surprised if you can book him though.

Another vote for Magnum Opus in Brighton. I was lucky enough to be featured on London Ink and had a Tour de France tattoo done. Phil Kyle is an amazing artist and since then I have been down to Brighton to have a zombie Tom Simpson inked, and then caught up with him at Liverpool tattoo convention to have some pills, brandy bottles, and a lantern rouge done. If you want to see some poor pictures of the work I have some on my flickr site – search under Simpson tribute. Can't link as I'm off to see my lad in Bugsy Malone in a couple of mins.

everyone has a price, getting in for a sitting is the problem though as you're going to have to get it done in the one go.

Hello, you should take a look at Prizeman's work, he's a top artist, top bloke, and he's a rider. Im in with Cecil Porter tomorrow for the day on my left armpit, nice.
