Make the most of the Keys, you are just on the turn of the hot weather.
Take your time driving to Key West, stop at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, Key Largo – one of the first underwater state parks, rent kayaks for a few hours and explore, go on glass bottom boat and.or snorkel in the coral reef just offshore.
Then keep driving South and stop off at Islamorada, take your pick of charter boats either on your own (expensive) or share with a group (less so expensive) both equally good and you will catch big fish all day.
Stop at Bahia Honda State park, too hot to camp now but rent a nice log cabin with a/c and they sleep up to 6 I think.
Key West is a party place, lots of nice places too but full of bars and clubs to suit all tastes. Has some military history (take a tour of the CGCutter Ingham) then visit the older history of pirates and treasure.
Out of the Keys now, don’t miss the Everglades, go down Tamiami Trail and go to Shark Valley in the Everglades National Park, here your can rent bikes or take the tram with guide, follow up with airboat ride.
Miami is a 24 hour city, 1000’s of places to chose from depends on your tastes – are you with young kids or just you and wife?
