rocket jr has an FPV racing drone that crashes as fast as it flies. We fly it on some heathland which is long grass and ferns and there have been a few times when it was diffcult to find in the undergrowth.

If it’s in range it’s sometimes possible to arm the motors and you can hear it hum but that’s not always an option. I’m trying to think of a way to find it and wondered if a metal detector would be any use.

It’s about the size of a boomerang and is mostly carbon fibre with metal brackets and fasteners.

You used to be able to get a lost model finder. Plugged into a spare channel on the receiver and screamed like a banshee.

Been a few years since I was into model gliders but I am sure they are still available.
