Any recommendations for specific manufacturer’s metal spray paint for a filing cabinet. Appears to be a lot of choice, so looking for something that is good, easy to use and will last. Hoping to put a few thin layers on it, so just want to make sure I get something decent. Probably a matt finish rather than a high gloss one. Thanks

I just used Velspar stuff from b&q. Good choice of colours.

Hammerite FTW. Doesn’t need an undercoat, and you can have either smooth or hammered finishes. Good idea to wire brush the old paint to key it and remove any loose paint and rust if there’s bare patches, then give nice even coats, and allow to dry property between coats, maybe going over each one with a fine nylon scouring pad just to give a bit of a key.
