So somehow the top corner of the slot on my maxle has sheered. Seems like I may get away with it for some time but am I worth sorting it our pronto and cutting it a new edge or os that going to weaken it?

Seems some people don’t advise doing it while others do…as always conflicting advice on t’internet.

I bent mine but was able to reshape it in the vice, so far so good. Stick a jubilee clip round it? Won’t look pretty but might help hold it together it you’re worried about it being weakened?

I would cut another one, carefully. I’ve seen people who’ve done this then damaged it again and thought uncharitable thoughts like “if you broke it once, no wonder you broke it again” 😉

What maxle is it? I’ve got half a Lyrik maxle somewhere, including the bit you’ve damaged, I broke the rest of it.

Ah, the Lyrik and Rev ones aren’t interchangable, sorry!

If it is the same as a SID 15mm then I bought the below newer style QR.

Has been a god send and so much better than the last POS.

Weird, just noticed my new pair have done the same thing. Never had a problem with previous pair.

Planning to file a new edge, hoping it won’t cause a problem!
