I’m after a short sleeved loose fit for the warmer weather – any recommendations?

Icebreaker do loads of styles and are not the most expensive.

Lab-Gear stuff is top-notch. they’ve just relaunched the website.
Its about £60 for a custom made cycle shirt http://www.lab-gear.com/Meccanica/cart.php?target=product&product_id=309

Buy a long sleeve one for 125 quid from Trespass and cut the sleeves off 🙂

But Ground Effect usually get good reviews, although you have to get them shipped over from NZ. They do a short sleeve merino blend jersey. See http://www.groundeffect.co.nz

After some searching I’m going Lab-Gear

I’ve got some ground Effect stuff inc one of their merino/nylon mix which is good, if a little tight fitting.

The Lab-gear jersey looks like what I’m after. Also, neat you can custom build your own…

    Cheers

    Hi there

I love my merino wool base layers, they’re amazing.

One thing about them, for them to work effectively, they need to be close-fitting, so fairly tight. That’s when they’re able to work as a second skin and wick /insulate/ventilate.

I highly recommend two brands, both very good value:

    Embers, http://www.embersmerino.com/
    Trekmates, at CRC

I own both of the above and wear them always for riding bikes and running. Amazing.

Alos look at Endura’s BaaBaa, which is great value, again at CRC

M&S do a short sleeve one. I got it for £25 in one of their sales. I like it.

Sorry i did in fact mean £15. That would be one expensive jersey to cut the sleeves off!

I wear an Icebreaker 200 long sleeve all the time. If it’s particularly windy, I’ll put a skinny short sleeve base layer/tech tee over the top and the whole package does me fine.

I was running when it was two below zero over Christmas, I was toasty warm but the perspiration that wicked through was freezing on the outside of the top. Highly recommended.
