Just bought one of the go outdoors ones for £29. Only had one ride and not tried any other Merino to compare it with but I liked it

+1 for Ground Effect. Really rate the synthetic/ merino mix, as you suggest makes them much more durable than solely wool. Admittedly not as stylish as some tho’.
