If you ride on Mendip, particularly the trails just off the RoW network, the chances are you have benefited from our cutting and drainage activity without realising it.
We are a small, nay, tiny, group of trail riders taking a proactive approach to trail clearance and maintenance, but we are few and the tasks are many. Particularly at this time of year we are struggling to keep things open and it’s becoming a battle we are losing.
We need some help and so I ask for it here – if you ride the Mendips and value the substantive trail network, please, please go and buy a foldable saw from wilco, or homebase, or similar. They’re a tenner.

Next time you’re on the Mendips and have to duck or go around something, get your saw out. Just a few minutes can really make a difference and if lots of you all do a few minutes, then we’re onto a better, more accessible set of trails for the benefit of all of us.
Here’s hoping.
