Are all the EXO tyres the same EXO?
I’ve been using an Ardent EXO on the rear and not had a punctures in ages.
Swapped to an Ikon EXO and had 2 snakebites in the sidewall of the tyre just above the bead.
So is the casing not as tough on the Ikon?

I think the casing is the same, but the Ikon has a lot less rubber on it per se. A normal Ardent is a fair bit tougher than a normal Ikon, so it stands to reason an EXO Ardent is a lot tougher than an EXO Ikon.

    If that makes sense…? 😕

The sidewalls feel the same though.
Not even a big drop or hard landing the second time round.
On the same side of the tyre both times.
    Wander if it’s faulty.

The Minion and Ardent Race I have here are both Exo TR, the ardent race seems to have a thinner sidewall. No punctures from either, although am running both tubeless.

    I’m also tubeless…

They are different. EXO refers to an extra layer in the sidewall construction, but the ultimate strength/puncture proofing depends on the original construction too.

    Thanks Ben.
Looks like I’ll put the Ardent back on then.
Shame as the Ikon is a great tyre just not tough enough.
