    Hi Chaps,

Has anyone run 2.4 tyres on a 717? I know their published max is 2.1, but know of people running 2.35s on theirs.

    It’d be a 2.4 Schwalbe Rocket Ron for reference…..

    cheers

Tried 2.3 vertical pro’s on xc 717’s. They were awful seemed to squirm around on the rim and they are a narrow tyre for a 2.3. I eventually got some xm 719’s from merlin. Much better for any large volume tyre. I like a bit of comfort on my hardtail.

Will work but be careful….too higher a pressure and they will pop off, too low they will roll off. They will be very round in profile too. I’ve used several bigger tyres on 717s….2.4 MOTO raptor – more like a 3…. at 12 psi it is luverly on the rigid. Oh and your tyre will be a ‘small’ 2.4

2.25 advantage on mine and it’s fine at 35PSI tubed. I think the max is 2.3 isn’t it?

I think on the Mavic Xc717 rims I’ve got, the sticker on the rim says max 2.3 width.

Should be alright in the usual 30-40psi boundary I would think
