I need some new headset bearings, so I may well give him a go!

Doesnt specify the make or quality of the bearings. Having had experience of cheap bearings fail due ineffective sealing in the past, im in no hurry to repeat the faff and hassle.
Name brand bearings like FAG, SKF etc are essential IMHO.

Could you encourage him to build up a library of bearing sizes for each application. eg: I’ve got a Salsa Spearfish, what do i need for a full suspension rebuild?

I’m sure as his first orders come in if he asks customers what they’re going to be used for he can get a lot of info quickly without having to research it all himself.

Are these bearing “off the shelf” spec or does he order them with a greater grease fill and a more water resistant grease?

He also needs to come on here and insult potential customers.

I think he uses baby tears to improve friction 😉

To be fair to Katec, his posh bearings make SKF ones feel rubbish

Gonna be difficult to persuade me away from Kaetec to be honest. His decent bearings on my frame have lasted more than twice as long as the original so far and mates who have used them are equally pleased. Both with service and quality.

Just giving a heads up for my mates site hes a long time cyclist and got tired of inferior bearings at a high price.
