Managed to come across some Marz 55r 160mm forks for cheapo, want to put them on a spesh big hit, bike normally takes 170mm forks – would the 160mm make that much difference?

Check out the axle-to-crown measurements on the specific model of 55 you are looking at and of the forks the Big Hit came with.

It’s about 10mm out, the Marz is 546mm, the alternate models which came as standard are Stance kingpin 540mm, and the junior t 555mm, not to clued up on what that means, is that ok?

I think a 66 on a Big Hit is an excellent idea. My experience is limited, for I’ve ridden a Big Hit on Junior Ts once at Thetford(!) but I liked it a lot.

The difference of 9mm by my highly inaccurate rule of thumb is going to mean that the front end is about half a degree steeper than the Junior T bike but I don’t think you’d notice it really. Plus a single crown fork on the bike will give you a better turning circle at least, which is why they’re popular with the freeride community.

if those measurements you’ve posted are right then they’ll be fine.
