Mary Towneley Loop challenge – CX or Enduro bike

    8Kg CX or 15Kg 170mm Enduro ?

i realise neither are ideal but that’s all i have.

    (its anti clockwise this year)

    Both, and swap strategically…

Real answer probably depends how competitive you want to be. I have little doubt that the CX will be the quicker bike but its gonna bit a bit brutal on it.

If you can stomach the uphills then I guess that the enduro will be more fun, but you aren’t likely to break 4 hours!

Big bike. It’s pretty rough on the whole. CX bike will be a chore

If you’ve got front suspension on the CX, you’ll survive. First time I did the MTL was on my Explosif with rigid forks and I felt beaten up afterwards. A year later I did it on my Global with SIDs and that made a big difference to the fatigue level.

Sounds like the Big bike is the answer, must admit the thought of going down rooley moor rd on the CX gives me cold sweats.

So if I take the big bike any obvious mods ?

If I had to choose, I’d go for Cougar. HTH

There’s a lot of uppy-downy on the MTL so I would go with the light bike every time.
